North Haven Girls' Soccer Upsets Hand, Battles Watertown But Falls on PKs
In Class L State Tournament action, the No. 21 North Haven girls' soccer team advanced to the quarterfinals where the Indians pushed fifth-seeded Watertown to its limits before falling on penalty kicks to end their season.
During the 2012 regular fall season, the North Haven High School girls' soccer team earned a 7-6-3 record to grab the No. 21 seed in the Class L State Tournament.
The Indians certainly had their work cut out for them in the first round as they were pitted against 12th-seeded Daniel Hand of Madison, which finished the regular season with a 10-6 record.

North Haven proved that the regular season goes out the window during postseason play as the Indians shut out the Tigers 2-0 on Nov. 9.
The victory earned North Haven a road trip to Watertown for the second round of states. Watertown, the No. 5 seed that finished 12-6 in the regular season, topped 28th-seeded Guiford 2-1 in the first round on Nov. 9.

On Nov. 12, the two teams battled to a deadlock, not only throughout regulation, but through two rounds of overtime. Watertown barely squeaked by the Indians, taking the 4-3 advantage on penalty kicks.
