North Haven Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing After Near Crash: PD
The man is accused of fatally stabbing a man after an argument over a near-collision between their cars in Waterbury, according to police.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Waterbury, according to multiple reports.
Stephen McCarthy, 27, is accused of killing 23-year-old Shawn Delacruz after an argument over a near-collision between their vehicles, according to the Waterbury Republican-American.
The near-crash happened Aug. 8 near Sperry Street and Johnson Street in Waterbury. Delacruz followed the other vehicle, which stopped in the area of Willow Street, according to FOX 61.

FOX 61 reports both drivers got out of their vehicles and began arguing and Delacruz was stabbed in the chest. The other driver, later identified as McCarthy, then got back into his car and drove away, according to FOX 61.
Delacruz was taken by a private car to Waterbury Hospital where he later died, according to the Republican-American.

McCarthy was found in Bridgeport last Thursday and arrested. He was charged with murder and is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond, according to state judicial records. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
