North Haven Resident Interrupts Overnight Car Burglary

The resident saw a man entering his car at about 4 a.m., confronted the suspect and police made two arrests in the incident.

An alert North Haven resident helped police make two arrests in an attempted overnight theft from his car early Wednesday morning in North Haven.

North Haven Police said that at about 4 a.m. on Sept. 30, a Fallon Drive resident noticed a vehicle driving slowly down his street.

The resident watched as the vehicle, a blue Mazda MPV, pulled in front of his home. The passenger exited his vehicle and opened the witness’ car door.

Police said the witness confronted the suspect who got back into his vehicle and left the area. North Haven Police officers located the fleeing vehicle and made two arrests.

The driver, Vincent Greco, 46, of Wallingford, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and later released from custody.

The passenger, 21-year-old Christopher Briggs, of New Haven, was charged with burglary and conspiracy. He was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Wednesday.
