Obituary: Dolores Kay Cichocki Rubino, 73, of North Haven

Dolores was an avid bowler, enjoyed swimming and walking but most of all being with her family whom she loved unconditionally.

Dolores Kay Cichocki Rubino, 73, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 1, 2018 with her loving family by her side at Yale-New Haven/Smilow Cancer Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to James Joseph Rubino Sr. Dolores was born in New Haven on September 6, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Cichocki and Kay Rose Traczyk Cichocki.

She had worked at the former Aura Manufacturing Company of North Haven, later for North Haven Tile Carpet One Floor & Home of Wallingford and later as an office worker/assistant for Kos Chiropractic Center of North Branford until her retirement.

Dolores was an avid bowler, enjoyed swimming and walking but most of all being with her family whom she loved unconditionally and was her everything.

Loving Mother of James Joseph Rubino, Jr. (Francesca Bickel) and Doreen Volpe (Mark). Beloved Babci to James Joseph Rubino III, Tessa Pearl Rubino, Miles Joseph Volpe, Spencer Lynn Volpe and Claire Bickel. Sister-In-Law of Robin Cichocki. Also survived by her beloved grand dog Neko. Predeceased by her brother Joseph Cichocki. The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to all the nurses at Smilow Cancer Hospital especially Becky Jacobs and to Dr. Johanna LaSalla, the excellent care and comfort you provided to Dolores and our entire family was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
