Obituary: Doris H. Horny Adams, 94, formerly of North Haven
Doris worked as a bookkeeper at Yale Motor Inn. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and North Haven Art Guild.

NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Doris H. Horny Adams, 94, of Meriden, formerly of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at MidState Medical Center, Meriden.
She was the beloved wife to the late Clarence W. Adams. Doris was born in the Bronx, New York on February 20, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Harry George and Helen Marie Horny.
She had worked as a bookkeeper at Yale Motor Inn, Wallingford for many years. Doris was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, North Haven Art Guild, winning many awards for her oil paintings.

She was a member of the North Haven Congregational Church, teaching Sunday School and served as a Deacon. Doris enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing, antiquing, most of all trips to the lake in Maine and lobster dinners with her family who she loved unconditionally. Mother of Donna (Dennis) McGrath. Grandmother of Bryan (Carolyn Traester) McGrath.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
