Obituary: Janet Hand, 57, of North Haven

Janet Hand, 57, of North Haven, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Left behind to appreciate her life are her beloved husband of 30 years, Robert A. Vibberts and son, Matthew H. Vibberts.

Janet was born in New Haven on October 12, 1960 and was the daughter of Helen Wilenski Hand and the late John Hand. She graduated from George Washington University. Janet retired in 2016 after a 32 year career at SNET, SBC and AT&T where she held various management positions in Finance and Marketing. She was also on the Board of Connex Credit Union for 19 years until retiring in April 2018.

A kind, caring, fun loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Beverly Hand and her husband, Paul Joubert and Adrienne and Ted Miazga. She also leaves behind nephew, Jeffrey Miazga, wife Carolyn, niece Kimberly Miller and husband Chris, great-nephews Aiden and Andrew Miazga, Jaxson Miller and great-niece Madison Miller, and cousins Dorothy Gesino and Roberta Connelly. Jan’s passion was in painting and floral arrangements which she pursued after retiring. Jan’s love and care for her family and friends was with the intensity of no other.
