Obituary: John G. Pine, 89, formerly of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) John G. Pine, 89, formerly of North Haven, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020.

He was the husband of Adelphina Rosadini Pine. John was born in New Haven, CT on December 17, 1930; son of the late Albert and Louise (Cruz) Pine; and late stepmother, Laura Pine. Father of John (Joell) Pine and Maria (Pine) Apuzzo of Florida. Grandfather of John C., Jenna, and Sarah Pine.

Brother of Maria Alves and the late Albert Pine, Jr. and Anthony Pine. John was married to the love of his life, Adele, for 69 years.

John was retired from Asbestos Workers Local No. 33. He was a member of the Hamden Elks Lodge and the North Haven Sons & Daughters of Italy.

John was a parishioner at St. Frances Cabrini for over 40 years, where he taught CCD for many years and served on the Liturgy Committee. John was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean War.

He was a recipient of several medals. John and his wife enjoyed cruises and traveling to Washington, D.C., the Caribbean, and many of the southern states.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Wednesday morning, Dec. 16th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery with full military honors.
