Obituary: Joseph Giovannitti, 77, of North Haven

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Giovannitti, 77, of North Haven, CT, and Naples, FL, on July 25, 2018. He entered into rest, with his loving wife of 55 years, Louise D’Urso Giovannitti, by his side.

Joseph was born on May 24, 1941, in New Haven, CT. He was the son of the late Giuseppe and Nancy (Aconfora) Giovannitti. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved son, Joseph (Sharon) Giovannitti, III, Maria (James) Coward, Joseph Pantalone and Richard Carloni. Also, he leaves four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Frank (Laura), John (Eleanor), Louis (Lottie) DeFelice, Antoinette Giovannitti and sister-in-law, Adelaide Pantalone. Prior to his retirement, Joseph was employed by Clinton Food Center, Pathmark and Shaw’s. He was a member of SPEBSQSA chorus of New Haven, CT, and Naples, FL. Joseph proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
