Obituary: Lillian R. White Eckels, 72, of North Haven

Lillian R. White Eckels, 72, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Howard T. Eckels. Lillian was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on January 26, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Alan and Rita Simms White.

She had worked as a Bookkeeper for many years, before becoming a stay at home mom, later returning to work as a Pharmacy Technician for Bella Vista Pharmacy until her retirement. She was a past member of the North Haven Congregational Church.

Mother of Thomas (Andrea) Eckels, Kimberly (Michael) Johansen and Brendan F. Eckels. Beloved grandmother of Benjamin, Alexandra, Aislinn, Kayley, Beth, Kenneth and Jacob. Sister of Betty Martin, William White and the late Alan and Claude White. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday morning, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Whitney Avenue, Hamden. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr. #3, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue have been entrusted with the arrangements.
