Obituary: Walter J. Lyons, 86, of North Haven

Walter John Lyons, 86, of North Haven, CT passed away peacefully on December 28, 2017. Walter was a loving father to Christopher Lyons (Maryjane) of Hamden, Julie Lyons, Matthew Lyons, and Sarah Brandi (Todd) of North Haven, and Daniel Lyons (Meredith Visco) of Bristol, VT. Also survived by his former wife and dear friend Marilyn Villano Lyons.

Walter was a loving grandfather to 9 cherished grandchildren, James Onofrio, Michael (Marissa), Philip, Andrew, Matthew, Jakob, Esme, Emelia, and Sawyer. Walter was born in New Haven September 30, 1931, son of the late Albert and Helen Nodd Lyons. Predeceased by siblings Elizabeth and Frank Lyons. Survived by sisters Anne Pendred of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Margaret (Tony) Vanacore of Deep River, CT, and Magdelyn King of West Haven, CT.

Prior to his retirement, he was a pharmaceutical salesman for many years. Walter was a graduate of Quinnipiac College and a devoted life time member of the Knights of Columbus, Carmel Council in Hamden.
