Quinnipiac School of Medicine Welcomes Education Expert
Dr. Lisa Coplit will create curriculum and promote professional development at the Frank H. Netter, M.D., School of Medicine.

Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter, M.D., School of Medicine has welcomed Dr. Lisa Coplit, an expert in medical education, as associate dean for assessment and faculty development.
A former director of of the Institute for Medical Education at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Coplit was responsible for creating and directing a trans-disciplinary teaching skills curriculum for all residents at the hospital and its twelve affiliates.
Coplit received her medical school, residency and chief resident training at the Boston University School of Medicine, and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and anthropology from Brandeis University.

“Quinnipiac is at the forefront of medical education,” Coplit said in a release announcing he appointment. “The opportunity to build a school from the ground up allows us to think without boundaries, coupling current educational theories and technologies with our experience as educators, scientists, advocates and physicians.”
Of Coplit's selection to the faculty, founding dean of the School of Medicine Dr. Bruce Koeppen said, “Her expertise will ensure that our faculty members are effective teachers and that our graduates possess the competencies to become caring, compassionate and highly effective physicians.”

Currently in the process of receiving accreditation, the Frank H. Netter School will enroll its first class in the fall of 2013.
