Regional Chair of the National Black Law Students Association

Quinnipiac University School of Law student Fontaine Chambers, of New Haven, named regional chair of the National Black Law Students Association

NORTH HAVEN – Quinnipiac University School of Law student Fontaine Chambers has been selected as the 56th Regional Chair of the Northeast Black Law Students Association (NEBLSA).

NEBLSA is the regional affiliate of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) with membership in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

“NEBLSA is a family that is invested in its members’ success,” Chambers said. “It offers a space to learn from each other, build genuine relationships with like-minded students and alumni, and continue the legacy of the giants that have come before us.”

Over the last two years, Chambers had served as vice chair and director of the organization’s Connecticut sub-region.

“I am so proud of Fontaine Chambers and the leadership she is exercising in our region,” said Jennifer Brown, dean of QU’s School of Law. “I know her charisma and character, propelled by her strong sense of purpose, will serve her well in this impactful position."

Chambers, a third-year, part-time law student from New Haven, said she does not take the new responsibility lightly.

“As chair, I plan to uphold the values to increase the number of culturally-responsible Black and minority attorneys who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community,” she said.
