Road Work Downtown Causes Delays

Paving on Broadway between Washington Ave. and Elm Street led to congestion and traffic delays downtown today.

Directed by policemen at intersections, cars and large trucks were guided down impromptu coned lanes on Broadway while workers laid asphalt and drove steamrollers.

The exit from the library parking lot on Broadway was blocked off.

Vehicles were backed up along Elm Street to Linsley, as well as turning onto Broadway from Washington.

The road work, part of a state improvement effort, is scheduled to continue through the end of the week according to the North Haven Town Hall.
