Transformer Fire Reported In North Haven: UPDATE (Cleared)

UPDATE: The scene has been cleared and Universal Drive is reopened in both directions, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Fire Department is on the scene of a transformer fire on Universal Drive/Terminal Drive, according to fire officials.

Multiple traffic lights are out and officials are advising motorists to avoid Universal Drive if possible due to congestion. (To sign up for North Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

North Haven Police responded to the area on the report of electrical wires down in the roadway. Police say to expect road closures while crews work to restore power and to avoid the area if possible.
