Woman Attempts to Purchase $4K in Electronics at Best Buy with Stolen Identity: North Haven Police
The suspect tried to flee the area but was located by officers, police said.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New York woman is accused of using a stolen identity to purchase about $4,000 worth of electronic equipment at Best Buy in North Haven, according to police.
On Friday, Jan. 6, the Best Buy loss prevention manager flagged down a North Haven Police Officer who was patrolling the Universal Drive area.
The manager told police that a female was inside of the store attempting to purchase approximately $4,000 worth of electronic equipment using someone’s stolen identity.

Officers located the woman attempting to flee the area. Police said she was found with a fake Connecticut license and a fraudulent credit card.
Laura Diaz, 28, of Bronx, N.Y., was arrested on charges of criminal attempt to commit third-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation, third-degree forgery and illegal use of a credit card. She was held on a $10,000 bond and will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.
