Woman Tried To Steal $3.5K From Victim’s Bank Account: Police
Police say the woman tried to use a fake license to withdraw $3,500 from a victim's account at a bank in North Haven on Thursday.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New York woman is accused of trying to use a fake license to withdraw $3,500 from another person’s account at a bank in North Haven on Thursday. At about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, North Haven Police responded to the TD Bank on Washington Avenue on the report of a 911 call that was disconnected. A woman was seen running from the bank as officers arrived at the scene, according to police.
Police said the woman was detained a short distance away and was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. The woman, identified as Polly Griggs of Bronx, N.Y., had attempted to use a fake New York license to withdraw $3,500 from a victim’s account, police said.
Griggs, 35, was arrested on charges of third-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny, criminal impersonation, first-degree forgery, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with officers. She was held on a $10,000 bond.
