Women Robbed At Gunpoint At Gas Station, Forced To Drive To Hartford: North Haven Police
Two 19-year-old women were robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in North Haven late Friday night, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two 19-year-old women were robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in North Haven before the suspect ordered the girls to get into the car and forced them to drive to Hartford, according to North Haven Police. The incident occurred just before midnight on Sept. 29 when the women were fueling their vehicle at a Washington Avenue gas station.
Police said a man approached the women, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The women gave the suspect all the money they had, but the suspect ordered them into the car as he sat in the rear seat, police said. (To sign up for North Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The suspect pointed the gun at the driver and gave directions to travel north on I-91. The 19-year-old drove until she was told to stop and ordered to get in the back seat, according to police.

Police said the suspect then got into the driver’s seat and drove a short distance before letting both women out of the vehicle in a Hartford neighborhood. The women contacted Hartford Police for help.

The suspect is described as a black male with a shaved head and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing dark pants and a black zip-up style hooded sweatshirt.
