2016 Has Been an Eventful Year for Geoff Fox
To say the least, but the former Connecticut meteorologist is keeping his spirits high as he continues his fight against cancer.

Former Connecticut meteorologist Geoff Fox, having experienced pancreatic cancer surgery in the fall, underwent his fourth of 12 chemotherapy sessions on Dec. 21, and while its certainly no fun, Fox is keeping his spirits up heading into the holiday.
Earlier this month, Fox received the news that the cancer markers in his pancreas could not be seen. It doesn't mean his cancer has necessarily gone away, or that his treatment is over, but it was welcomed news.
"I don’t think it’s possible to have gotten better news than I got today," he wrote in a Dec. 9 entry on his blog.

On the blog and Facebook page, Fox is continuing to keep readers up to date on his progress, and he is even helping aspiring meteorologist learn the craft at a "boot camp" in his home studio.
"I enjoy teaching," he writes on the blog. "It’s part of my new job as 'weather sage.'"

Patch and several news outlets have been following Fox's story, including a lengthy feature in the New Haven Register this past weekend.
In it, the 66-year-old tells columnist Randall Beach that he is "cautiously optimistic" about his future, but he knows that his prognosis could turn "on a dime."
Still, with 2017 just days away, that's not a bad way for Fox to say Happy Holidays and goodbye to an eventful 2016.
