NORWALK, CT — Dog license renewals for 2022 will be available in Norwalk beginning June 1, according to the Norwalk Town Clerk's Office.

According to a news release, state law mandates that all dogs over six months of age be licensed in the municipality in which they reside and must wear the tag on a collar around their neck.

Dog owners may renew their pet's license online, by mail, by using the Town Clerk Drop Box located outside of Town Hall or in person by coming to the Town Clerk's Office.

If residents plan to mail in the form, they can address it to Norwalk Town Clerk, 125 East Ave, Norwalk, CT, 06856. They should also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for their return mail.

If residents plan to utilize the Town Clerk Drop Box option, the Town Clerk's Office asks individuals to please follow the "renewal through US mail" instructions and clearly write "Town Clerk" on the outside of the envelope before putting it into the Drop Box.

All current registered dog owners will be receiving renewal notices in the mail or via email. The Town Clerk's Office encourages those who don’t see the notice in their email to check their junk or spam folders, in case it lands there.

If a dog has not been registered before, a neutering or spaying certificate must also be presented for the first time when registering if the dog has been altered.
