NORWALK, CT — Crews extinguished a house fire that broke out Friday morning in the garage of an Eastwood Road home, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.

In a news release, Chief Edward McCabe said the department received multiple calls just before 9:30 a.m. reporting a garage fire at a two-story home.

When crews arrived, they found smoke showing from the garage with flames beginning to extend through the upper portion of the garage doors, McCabe said.

According to McCabe, an interior door between the garage and the home was kept closed, which limited smoke and heat extension into the living space.

Firefighters cut the garage doors down and quickly extinguished the blaze, McCabe said.

The house was ventilated naturally and all utilities were shut down and secured, according to McCabe.

Four residents were displaced as a result of the fire, McCabe said. No injuries were reported.

The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire, according to McCabe.
