1. City Announces 'Norwalk Through Your Eyes' Student Art Contest (patch.com) — Norwalk families have a new way for students to show off their creativity through the mayor's "Norwalk Through Your Eyes" art contest, open to grades K-12. Entries, due Oct. 16, will be judged by city, school and Norwalk Art Space representatives, with selected works displayed at City Hall and highlighted on official city social media.
2. Norwalk High Schools Ranked Among Top 100 In New Analysis (patch.com) — Norwalk residents can take pride in three local public high schools landing in Niche's 2027 top 100 for Connecticut, with the Center for Global Studies, P-TECH Norwalk and Brien McMahon all recognized. The analysis, based on extensive data and millions of reviews, helps families compare Norwalk schools with options across the state and nation.
3. BGM enters Connecticut market (accountingtoday.com) — A long-established Norwalk accounting firm, R. L. DePanfilis & Co., has been acquired by Minnesota-based BGM, bringing the national firm's broader tax, audit, and advisory services to local clients. The Norwalk team and partners will remain in place, but now operate under BGM's banner with expanded resources and New England reach.
4. Five CT companies pay $9.2M to settle PPP fraud claims (hartfordbusiness.com subscription) — A Norwalk-based business, Connecticut Pharmacy LLC, is among five companies paying over $9.2 million to settle federal allegations of improperly obtained or misused Paycheck Protection Program loans. The Norwalk and Wallingford pharmacies will pay $400,000 after prosecutors said most of their PPP funds went to repay another company's loans instead of covering eligible payroll and expenses.
