NORWALK, CT — Norwalk's weekend centers on two of its signature attractions, from Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11: a Gilded Age mansion with a brand-new portrait exhibition and the Maritime Aquarium.

"The Evolving Icon" and "Revolutionary Roots" — Thursday through Sunday; tours at noon and 2 p.m. (90 minutes) and 1 p.m. (45 minutes). The mansion museum's new show of contemporary portraits, created with the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, opened Oct. 7, alongside "Revolutionary Roots: Generations of Change," with period costumes and artifacts tied to Revolutionary War ancestors. Maritime Aquarium — Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 4D theater is showing "Monster Mayhem 4D" and "BBC Earth's Shark: A 4D Experience."
