Longtime Owner of Swanky Franks
Alexander A. ‘Al’ Renzuella, 95, of Norwalk husband of the late Eleanor Ruta Renzuella, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at Norwalk Hospital.

Born in Norwalk, March 1, 1917, son of the late Antonio and Ursula Bifano Renzulli, he was a life long Norwalk resident. Mr. Renzuella was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army, enlisting in 1943, and serving in Italy with the 42nd Rainbow Division. He and his late wife took over Swanky Franks restaurant on Connecticut Avenue, in 1953 and operated there for the next thirty years. After changing hands several times the Original Swanky Franks is, since 2003, again run by Al’s family.
Mr. Renzuella enjoyed fishing and traveling to Mexico and Florida many times in the winter. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Life Member and oldest member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.

Survivors include a daughter; Bunny [Eleanor] Satterfield, three grandchildren; Lauren, Traci and Drew Satterfield, and one great grandson; Alexander Satterfield, as well as nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by seven siblings; brothers; Patrick, Salvatore and Louis, sisters; Elizabeth Peluso, Anna Czel, Amelia Carrone, Jennie Bodnar, and Marion Fratino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P. M. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue.
