UPDATE: Arrest Made After Confession in Murder of Norwalk Cab Driver
Police said a New Jersey man and announced that details were to follow at a 10 a.m., Friday news conference.

During the early morning hours of December 12, 2014 Detectives from the Norwalk Department of Police Service arrested and charged Ramiro Arcos Garcia [age 32] of 544 Livingston St., Elizabeth, NJ with murder ([Connecticut law] 53a-54a).
Garcia was held on a $2.5 million bond and will be presented at the Norwalk Courthouse this morning.
Garcia provided investigators with a full confession during their interview.

Based on the investigation it was determined that the suspect and victim knew each other; this was not a random act. The investigation is continuing, as further interviews and statements will be taken.
Investigators have learned that Garcia is also wanted by the Rockingham County Sherriff’s Office in West Virginia. A warrant is on file charging Kidnapping, Felonious Assault and Car Jacking. Investigators have been in contact with officials from West Virginia.
[Police] Chief [Thomas] Kulhawik applauds the work of the officers and investigators involved with this case. The patrol response and initial investigation provided information and evidence, which allowed investigators to quickly develop significant leads.
A team effort was used as investigators from the Detective Division, Special Victims Unit and Special Services all
assisted in the investigation.
Chief Kulhawik would also like to thank the many members of the community who cooperated with investigators and provided vital information, which allowed investigators to identify a suspect within 24 hours of the incident, and ultimately lead to the location and arrest of the suspect.

Norwalk police have charged a New Jersey man in the stabbing death of Norwalk cab driver Jackson Pierre-Louis.
Ramiro Arcos Garcia, 32, of Livingston Street, Elizabeth, NJ, was charged with murder, with his bond initially set at $2.5 million.
Police released little information early this morning but said a news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m.
Norwalk police received 911 calls reporting a stabbing and motor vehicle accident on Grove Street in South Norwalk at 12:16 a.m., Monday.
Norwalk Yellow Cab driver Pierre-Louis, 51, of Bridgeport had multiple stab wounds. He had crashed into a parked vehicle. He was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. at Norwalk Hospital.
Detectives examined a 2005 Mazda minivan to collect evidence, and said Monday that they had a very active investigation, but at that point were asking for anyone who knows about the case to call them.
CORRECTION: Garcia’s age was initially reported by Patch as 22. He is 32.
