Updated: Cops Say City Hall Incident Not an Attempted Kidnapping

Police were initially called to the scene at about 11:30 a.m., but the report was a miscommunication.

Updated at 5:42 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016: No attempted kidnapping occurred Thursday at Norwalk City Hall, according to police.

The Hour reports that there was a miscommunication by a third party that reported the supposed attempt, but after interviewing people officers determined it was unfounded.

Original story: NORWALK, CT - A man tried to grab a 20-year-old woman in the parking lot of Norwalk City Hall Thursday morning, reports The Hour.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. and police are searching for the suspect.

The woman reportedly was able to wrestle free of the alleged abductor, who was described as a thin white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and jeans. He also stands about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and has brown hair.
