Brien McMahon HS In Norwalk Named An International Baccalaureate World School

The prestigious designation is recognized worldwide.

NORWALK, CT — Brien McMahon High School was recently named an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Diploma Programme, district officials announced.

The distinction is recognized worldwide for its "high standards for teaching and student achievement." In Fairfield County, Brien McMahon becomes the second IB Diploma Programme institution, joining Bridgeport's Warren Harding High School.

"This prestigious designation is the result of several years of planning, preparation, and hard work by administrators and staff," wrote Norwalk school officials in the below Facebook post. "Kudos to Suzanne Koroshetz, Nicole Stockfisch, Julie Parham, Kristi Carriero, Scott Hurwitz, and all the teachers who have been trained and have agreed to teach the first IB classes starting this fall.
