Call Reporting Shots Fired At Norwalk School A Hoax: Police
Police said a telephone call reporting shots fired at a Norwalk middle school was determined to be a hoax.

NORWALK, CT — Police said a telephone call reporting shots fired at a Norwalk middle school Thursday afternoon was determined to be a hoax.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the department received a call around 3 p.m. reporting shots having been fired at Roton Middle School on Highland Avenue.
Multiple officers responded to the school and quickly determined no shooting had occurred at the school and everyone was safe, Gulino said.

Gulino said the caller has been identified by police but did not reveal the suspect's name or whether more than one person was involved in the hoax.
She also noted there is no threat to the community or any concerns for safety as a result of this incident. Police and Norwalk Public Schools are investigating the incident together.

"As a reminder, we encourage our community members to reach [out] anytime there is a concern for the safety of the public," Gulino said in a news release. "There are numerous methods of contacting us."
