ElderHouse, a leader in serving aging seniors and their caregivers, is pleased to announce a new Executive Director, Julia Schwartz-Leeper, MSW. An advocate for older adults, Julia shares ElderHouse’s passion for providing adult day care as a vital resource for older adults and caregivers who wish to remain part of community life; and supports healthy aging that allows people to age in place with dignity.

Julia has devoted most of her professional career to working with older adults and families. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and her Master of Social Work from Columbia University. Her career highlights include the role of President and CEO of Meals on Wheels, as well as the Chief Executive Officer for Riverdale Senior Services, a position she held for 12 years.

Having run her own successful consulting practice in support of nonprofit organizations through times of transition and growth, ElderHouse looks to Julia’s leadership as we move forward post-pandemic. “ElderHouse has a long and trusted history in the community, we are excited to welcome back the community and expand our programs and services to meet the growing needs of older adults in lower Fairfield County.”, said Julia Schwartz-Leeper.
