Travel to Haiti with Stepping Stones

This vacation week event at Stepping Stones Museum will allow kids to travel to Haiti and enjoy activites related to Haiti and Haitian culture for the entire week.

Tuesday, February 22 - Transportation in a Taptap

There's more to Haitian transportation than a boring yellow school bus…there's the Taptap! These elaborately decorated buses and taxis are painted on all sides with vibrant pictures and stories. Come discover how children in Haiti travel from place to place. 

Wednesday, February 23 - The Colors of Haiti

The Haitian people find beauty everywhere! Experience the brilliance of Haitian art created from found materials and create your own colorful masterpiece.

Thursday, February 24 - Fun Folk Tales

Come listen to the well-known folk tales of the mischievous Ti Malice and his sweet friend Bouki. 

Friday, February 25 - Feel the Beat

It's all about the rhythm! Enjoy the sounds of Kompas, a musical genre native to Haiti. Learn about Haitian drumming and construct your own percussion instrument.
