Family Matters Lead to Resignation of Norwalk Schools Special Education Director

Dr. Lynn Toper was hired to the post in July.

NORWALK, CT — Dr. Lynn Toper, Chief of Specialized Learning and Student Services for the Norwalk School District, has resigned from the job, effective Dec. 23, the school system announced in a Facebook post.

Toper, who has been dealing with an unexpected family illness soon after her hiring in July, has been on partial leave since October.

“We’re disappointed that Dr. Toper was unable to fulfill her commitment to Norwalk,” said Norwalk Schools Superintendent Dr. Steven Adamowski in a statement. “However, we are appreciative of her contributions over the past six months.”
