Fire At South Norwalk Boat Club Damages Multiple Vessels

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the club just before 11 p.m. Friday after receiving a call about the blaze.

NORWALK, CT — Multiple vessels were damaged Friday night in a blaze at the South Norwalk Boat Club, according to officials.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the club at 17 Mack St. just before 11 p.m. after receiving a report of a fire. When crews arrived, they found a 40-foot boat engulfed in flames and a nearby vessel also on fire.

The blaze was quickly controlled with the help of multiple fire crews from Norwalk, Noroton Heights and Stamford.

Several other vessels docked in the area also sustained heat and fire damage, authorities said. No one was injured in the blaze.

The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection responded to the scene to assess potential environmental impacts. No concerns were found.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
