Former Hedge Fund Employee Sentenced In Norwalk Mail Order Ecstacy Case: Report

The defendant received 750 grams of MDMA ecstasy at his home.

NORWALK, CT — A 27-year-old former employee of Westport-based Bridgewater Associates received a five-year suspended sentence, and five years of probation, in court this week in connection with having ecstacy mailed to his Norwalk home, reports the Greenwich Time.

Joshua Lucas received 750 grams of MDMA ecstasy at his home when he was arrested by local and federal authorities in August of last year. He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

He will avoid jail time, but he will have to surrender his Series 7 license, which means he will not be allowed to sell certain financial products.
