Update: Jackknifed TT Cleared In Norwalk

NORWALK, CT — Traffic on Interstate 95 south was a mess this morning as a jackknifed tractor trailer slowed the trips of New York-city bound motorists Saturday morning.

Now, the state Department of Transportation has reported the scene is finally cleared after more than five hours.

According to the DOT's Twitter feed, the crash was cleared up about 0.41 miles before Exit 13, near Route 1 (Boston Post Road) at about 10:14 a.m. Saturday.

According to the DOT, the crash was between exits 14 and 13 and resulted in the right and center lanes being closed.

Vehicles were backed up into nearby Westport at exits 18 and 14, with the total traffic jam reported to be 5.7 miles long.

DOT officials said the accident was at 4:59 a.m.
