​Obituary: Joseph Frank Velez, 45, Of Norwalk

Joseph Frank Velez, 45, a lifetime Norwalk resident, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2023.

He was born in the middle of a blizzard on March 14, 1978 to Jose and Susan (Bedell) Velez. He attended Norwalk schools and was the proud owner of Joe’s Moving Company.

Joseph was a fishing and shooting enthusiast and you could often find him at the gun range. He loved his family and his friends but mostly just loved life. He had such a caring personality that he could talk to anyone about anything for hours on end and often brighten up their day.

In addition to his mother Susan Backer, Joseph is survived by his step father Clem Chernak as well as many beloved friends that he has made over the years. He was pre deceased by his loving sister Arian Backer.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk, CT. There will be a service at 6:30 p.m.
