Layoffs Said to Hit More than 50 Frontier Communications Workers in CT

The Norwalk-based company announced its plan to layoff workers early last month.

NORWALK, CT — Frontier Communications has laid off more than 50 workers in Connecticut as part of its planned shedding of jobs companywide, reports the New Haven Register.

Early last month, the Norwalk-based company said it would layoff a total of about 1,000 workers due to redundancies following its acquisitions of former Verizon territories in California, Florida and Texas.

Exactly how many people lost jobs on Nov. 30, their last day with the company, in Connecticut was unknown, but the Register pegged the number at 53, at least.
