About That Low-Flying Helicopter in the Skies Above Norwalk...

Rest assured, there's an explanation for it.

NORWALK, CT — The city's police department is assuring residents Wednesday that the low-flying helicopter spotted in the skies above Norwalk is there for a reason.

It's part of a power line inspections program by the utility company Eversource CT. The inspections are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability, according to the company.

Eversource uses helicopters to survey vegetation growing near its high voltage transmission lines, and is doing so throughout the state.
