Man Driving With Baby On Lap Arrested On Gun, Narcotics Charges: Norwalk Police
A Norwalk man was arrested on gun and narcotics charges while driving around with an unsecured baby on his lap, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man was arrested late Easter morning on gun and narcotics charges while driving around with an unsecured baby on his lap, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said said a patrol officer in Norwalk noticed a man driving with a baby on his lap Sunday around 11:45 a.m.
According to Evarts, the officer pulled the car over and did not see an infant car seat anywhere in the vehicle. Police also noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car.

Officers searched the car and found 0.762 pounds of marijuana and a loaded Sig Sauer P365 handgun, Evarts said.
Naud Rodriguez, 26, of Norwalk, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, negligent storage of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, illegal transfer of child-front seat restraint, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and use of drug paraphernalia.

Rodriguez's bond was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Evarts.
