Man Walking Dog In Norwalk Hit Cop During Altercation: Report

The incident occurred over the weekend at Calf Pasture Beach.

NORWALK, CT — A 30-year-old Baltimore man, who was illegally walking his pitbull at Calf Pasture Beach on Saturday morning, struck a Norwalk police officer with a plastic case from the dog leash during an altercation with the officer, writes the Connecticut Post.

The suspect, later identified as Clint Vasquez, reportedly had cursed out another person at the beach who tried to inform him that walking the dog on the beach was prohibited.

When confronted by an officer - who was at the beach on an extra-duty assignment at about 9 a.m. - Vasquez resisted arrest and struck the officer with the retractable leash casing.
