"We had no idea that the aquarium was going to be part of a question," Maritime Aquarium Publicist Dave Sigworth said in an email. "I’m actually a pretty regular viewer, but I wasn’t watching Monday. A friend saw it and texted me."
While the aquarium may not have been aware of the mention before the episode aired, Sigworth said they like to think their hard work is paying off and the aquarium’s reputation is spreading, helping more people discover it.
"We’re proud of our quality exhibits, our excellent guest experience and animal care, and our deep involvement in regional education and marine conservation," Sigworth said. "so when, out of the blue, little recognitions on a national scale happen like this, it’s very gratifying! The staff loved it!"
