UPDATE: Man with Knife Disarmed on Metro-North Train in Rowayton

The incident occurred Friday afternoon, according to the MTA.

Updated at 6:52 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016: An off-duty police officer reportedly disarmed a disturbed man carrying knife Friday evening on a Metro-North train.

Scared passengers fled from the car the man was sitting in, writes The Hour, as he began cutting his own chest.

Off-duty Prospect, CT Police Off. Anthony Ciprano, who was one of the passengers, heard about the situation and went into the car and the man reportedly lunged at him. Ciprano drew his gun and the man got down onto the floor of the train.

The suspect was taken off the train in Rowayton and placed into an ambulance.
