Milford Police Find Marijuana and Loaded Handgun in Norwalk Resident's Car
Two Norwalk residents were stopped in Milford where police allegedly found the drugs and gun.

Milford police say Tristina Duarte, 28, of Summer Street and Damiyr Muhammad, 28, of Woodward Avenue in Norwalk, are accused of driving around with marijuana and a loaded .22 caliber handgun in their car.
Police said they stopped a vehicle Duarte was driving for motor vehicle violations on Sunday. During the stop it was learned that there was a warrant for her arrest by the Stamford Police Department for failing to appear in court, police said.
Police also located marijuana in the possession of her passenger, Muhammad, police said. Subsequent to their arrest, police located a loaded .22 caliber handgun in Duarte’s purse and paraphernalia used to ingest marijuana, police said.

Muhammad claimed ownership of the weapon stating he bought the weapon on the street in Bridgeport, police said. Muhammad is a convicted felon and not permitted to possess or own a handgun.
Duarte and Muhammad were both charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, and conspiracy. Duarte was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Muhammad was charged with possession of marijuana.

Muhammad was held on $25,000 bond and Duarte was held on $10,000 bond.
