"Unfortunately, Joe was victimized by his attorney, who stole just under $1 million from him," the description reads. "While the attorney has subsequently been arrested, Joe and his family lost what he worked so hard to save."
Earlier this month, real estate attorney Carl Ferraro, 57, of Darien, was arrested by Norwalk police and charged with eight counts of first-degree larceny. He is accused of stealing over $1 million from his clients following "a lengthy investigation that involved over half a dozen victims," according to police.

In an interview with News 12, Jensen said he lost over $925,000 that was due to him following the sale of his home in February. He also noted he will need to continue working part-time, and possibly get a second job, as a result of the theft.
During his time serving as a community police officer in Rowayton, Jensen was known as a thoughtful, kind and caring person who was always there to assist his community and keep it safe, according to the GoFundMe.
"We now have the opportunity to help a man that has given a lifetime of service to his country and community," the description reads. "Please consider donating to Joe and his family, who are going through a rough time financially."
As of Tuesday morning, the campaign has raised over $6,000 toward a $250,000 goal thanks to nearly 50 donations.
