New Canaan Restaurant Week Coming Aug. 25 to Sept. 3
There's a special "stroll" to kick it off on Aug. 25

Here's your chance to get to know New Canaan's restaurants and have a good meal relatively cheap: New Canaan's first "Restaurant Week" starts Aug. 25 and runs through Sept. 3
Participating eateries will have prix fixe menus, and other events related to the event will take place during the week.

According to the Connecticut Restaurant Week website, "participating restaurants will offer their diverse cuisines according to their own individual prix-fixe specials. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus will be available from an estimated twenty restaurants and eateries."

- The Tuscan (relatively new, at 134 Main St.; the website isn't up yet, but here's their Facebook page)
Restaurant week kicks off Aug. 25 with a "Taste of the Town", a stroll from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. that calls for participants to donate an item to the the New Canaan Food Pantry in exchange for an opportunity to win give-a-ways provided by sponsoring businesses, including airlines.
Local businesses joining the restaurant week kick-off celebration include; Aetheria Relaxation Spa, Baskin Robbins, Belgique Chocolatier, Caren Forbes, DEANE, Design Solutions, Francos Wine Merchants, L’Armoire, New Balance, Pimlico, Ralph Lauren, Red Grape Wine & Spirits, Wave and will be hosting in store events during the "Taste of the Town" stroll.
The evening will conclude with a live drawing and the grand prize give-a-way of two round trip business class tickets to either Europe or South America courtesy of American Airlines. Other prizes include Broadway tickets, $50 restaurant gift cards and gifts from local businesses.
The event will be sponsored by local businesses and benefit the New Canaan Food Pantry. The town Chamber of Commerce hopes the week-long extravaganza will energize shops and restaurants in the business district.
