New Pediatric Specialty Center Set to Open in Norwalk

The 1,000-square-foot medical office will offer specialized pediatric care in 12 disciplines as well as pediatric radiology and blood drawing services, according to a report in The Hour of Norwalk.

Yale New Haven Children's Hospital is set to open a new Pediatric Specialty Center at 747 Belden Avenue in on July 2.

The 1,000-square-foot medical office will offer specialized pediatric care in 12 disciplines as well as pediatric radiology and blood drawing services, according to a report in The Hour of Norwalk.

Specialties offered will include adolescent medicine, cardiology, craniofacial, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, hematology, neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics and urology, according to the Yale-New Haven Hospital website.

Norwalk elected and community officials including Mayor Richard A Moccia reportedly attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new facility on June 19.

Meanwhile Stamford Hospital has in multiple phases over the next 10 to 15 years, for an estimated $575 million, to a new plan to build the facility in a single phase over the next four years, for an estimated $450 million.

Under the new, single-phase plan — which is still subject to approval by the Stamford Zoning Board of Appeals — the new hospital facility would be completed by spring 2016, according to hospital officials.
