Norwalk Announces 2019 Yard Waste Site Schedule

NORWALK, CT — The Yard Waste Site, located at 15 South Smith Street, will be open for the spring/summer/fall season on Monday, April 1, 2019, according to a press release. During the Season (Monday, April 1, 2019-Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019), the hours of operation will be:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The scale will be closed from approximately 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Yard Waste may be brought loose or bagged in brown paper leaf bags. All containers, except brown paper leaf bags, must be emptied and removed.

All passenger vehicles must display a Norwalk Resident/Beach Pass as they enter the site. The 2018 Norwalk Resident/Beach Pass expires on March 31, 2019. Residents will be given a 30-day grace period at both the Transfer Station and Yard Waste Site.

Residents will be required to have a paper copy of the 2019 Resident/Beach Pass by Wednesday, May 1, 2019 for cars or SUVs that enter the Norwalk Transfer Station or Yard Waste Site. Residents can go to the Recreation & Parks Department at City Hall or visit norwalkct.org/residentpass.

For Norwalk residents with pick-up trucks, vans and/or trailers, the resident cards do not need to be renewed. The free tonnage will reset on July 1, 2019.
