Norwalk Daycare Operator Received State Violation Notices Before Infant Fatality: Report
Family Child Care Home in Norwalk reportedly has been hit with a "summary suspension" by the state Office of Early Childhood.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk daycare operator Christine Limone, owner of Family Child Care Home where a 4-month-old infant died this week, reportedly received multiple violations from state regulators earlier this year, reports The Hour.
The violations were discovered in March and May by representatives from the state Office of Early Childhood. In one of the inspections, the violations included over-capacity, incorrect water temperature and too many children below the age of 2.
Limone, who is the daughter of Norwalk Mayor - and former Police Chief - Harry Rilling, reportedly corrected some of the facility's deficiencies, but during the second inspection, other violations were discovered. Those included uncovered electrical sockets, a stairway that lacked a barrier and incomplete or missing child records.

Emergency personnel responded to the Hunters Lane home daycare facility on Wednesday on a report of an unresponsive child. After administering CPR, the child was rushed to Norwalk Hospital where the infant was pronounced dead. An autopsy is being performed by the state Medical Examiner's Office.
Connecticut State Police took over the investigation from Norwalk police on Thursday, and NBC Connecticut reports that the Office of Early Childhood has issued a "summary suspension" of the facility's certification.

The suspension was the result an emergency action by OEC on Thursday, and allows for a hearing next week for Limone to answer questions, according to the publication.
Rilling issued a brief statement to The Hour's Leslie Lake on Thursday.
“It’s a terrible tragedy and our prayers are with the baby’s family.”
