Norwalk Hospital Earns Award for Superior Clinical Outcomes

NORWALK, Connecticut, February 27, 2019 — Norwalk Hospital earned an America’s Best Hospitals™ 2019 recognition by Healthgrades® for the second consecutive year. This means that Norwalk Hospital is one of the top 250 hospitals in the United States because of superior clinical outcomes for common inpatient conditions and procedures. This achievement places Norwalk Hospital in the top five percent of all hospitals in the country. Norwalk Hospital is the only hospital in Fairfield County, Connecticut to earn this recognition.

Healthgrades is a leading organization that provides information about physicians and hospitals to consumers. Healthgrades determines a top hospital based on clinical quality outcomes for 32 conditions and procedures. According to Healthgrades, a hospital identified as one of America’s Best Hospitals: “outperformed their peers in treating a core group of conditions that account for more than 80 percent of mortalities in areas evaluated, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis, and stroke.” Also according to Healthgrades, at a hospital that meets America’s Best Hospitals criteria, patients are statistically more likely to have successful outcomes compared to other hospitals.
