Norwalk Hotel Up For Auction At $4 Million Starting Bid: Report
A Norwalk hotel is up for auction, with a starting bid set at $4 million, over four years after it was seized in a foreclosure.
NORWALK, CT — The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Norwalk is scheduled to go up for auction the first week of April, with a starting bid set at $4 million, The Norwalk Hour reports. The eight-floor, 265-room hotel, located at 789 Connecticut Avenue, was seized in a foreclosure in 2018.
According to The Hour, the city last appraised the property at $12.5 million and listed an estimated replacement cost at nearly $18 million. After the owners set an asking price for the hotel at $19 million in 2019, no buyers emerged prior to the onset of the coronavirus crisis in March 2020.
