Norwalk House Explosion Caused By Propane Tank: Report

Fire officials said an issue with a propane tank is to blame​ for a powerful explosion that occurred at a Norwalk home.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk fire officials said a leaking underground propane tank is to blame for a powerful explosion that occurred Wednesday on Deepwood Lane, the Norwalk Hour reported. The explosion blew out a number of the home's windows and doors, officials said.

According to the Hour, officials said the tank had a hole in it, which enabled propane to leach into the soil and move to the home’s basement and nearby storm drains, which was likely ignited when the water heater turned on.
