NORWALK, CT — A man was arrested following an over five-hour standoff with police Monday, according to police.

Police responded to a call reporting a disturbance at an Adams Avenue address at 7:04 p.m.

An intoxicated man was at the home saying he had to “complete a mission,” according to police.

Nabeel Osama Abdallah, 29, of Norwalk, made statements about “burning the house down and killing one of the residents,” police said. A witness had seen a gun in the man's room.

He also made comments that he was “not going down without a fight.”

Hostage negotiators and other law enforcement dealt with the man for over five and a half hours until he was taken into custody.

Negotiators convinced him to surrender without incident, according to police.

Detectives later searched the home and recovered two facsimile guns in Abdallah’s room.

He was charged with disorderly conduct, first-degree threatening, and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest. Bond was set at $250,000.
